Why? The pastor who officiated Alicia and Chris’s wedding on July 16, 2011, thought it appropriate to use language from the couple’s professions—from anatomically correct terms to those of legally binding agreements. They made it official when the pastor said: “Doctor, you may kiss the lawyer; Chris, you may kiss your bride!”

Making New Memories: Alicia attended the Summit Country Day School from first through twelfth grade, so including the school’s chapel and some of her classmates in her wedding ceremony was especially significant to her.

The couple married in September 2010 at downtown Cincinnati’s stunning St. Xavier Church. As a surprise to their guests, the pair brought in local singer Peter Dressman, who gave an acoustic performance of Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah from a rear balcony of the church. The reception at The Cincinnati Club had the feel of an upscale nightclub, with colorful lights projecting decorative images of peacock feathers on the ceilings and cozy white lounge furniture placed on the outskirts of the dance floor.

They married on May 22, 2010, in a fun yet formal ceremony in Sacred Heart Church of Cincinnati, with a dancing-filled reception afterwards at Clovernook Country Club.

Sacred Heart Church has quite the history in the Hagen family. The bride’s parents married there 32 years ago and her sister was wed there last spring.

They lost touch after graduation but in 2007, Leisa found Christian online and the two reconnected. They married on October 31, 2009, at the Krippendorf Lodge at the Cincinnati Nature Center. Leisa and Christian incorporated the Halloween holiday into the event with a trick-or-treating candy buffet for the children, a kids-only costume parade and even a psychic consultant who gave tarot card readings.

Even though they were born seemingly halfway across the globe, the two met in college and made an instant connection. Hetal and Sunny were married on May 30, 2009, at the Elements Conference & Event Centre. Hetal wore a beautiful white-and-red sari, and her hands were painted in intricate henna. The cake was white and green, with a silver “P” on the top, representative of their new, shared last name.
